Utility Advantage joined a consortium of supporters to petition Congress to save the clean energy tax credits that provide much needed financial resources to encourage the investment in energy efficiency, electric vehicles and distributed renewable energy resources.
These tax credits provide necessary incentives for residents and businesses and the associated direct pay program for non-profits and the government sector to continue progress to a cleaner and more sustainable United States.
We also support the continuation of the EnergyStar program which has been targeted for dismantling by the current administration. EnergyStar is a highly recognized program valued by consumers across the country as a means to easily identify higher efficiency products and appliances. The EnergyStar program also provides certification of buildings and homes that are above average efficiency – helping tenants and homebuyers to confidently purchase or lease a more energy efficient building or home that will provide lower energy bills.
The EnergyStar program, which was initiated under President H. W. Bush, costs under $40 million per year to implement and results in $ billions in savings to consumers and businesses each year.
