Energy Transition Role Models – Inspiring the Next Generation of Women Entrepreneur

The energy industry is a male-dominated industry but there are companies and individuals trying to bring change to increase the inclusion of women.  Laurie Wiegand-Jackson, President of Utility Advantage, was one of nineteen women entrepreneurs from around the world that was highlighted as a role model for the next generation in GWNET’s publication “Energy Transition Role Models – Inspiring the Next Generation of Women Entrepreneurs”.  GWNET is showcasing  the portraits of these remarkable women entrepreneurs to balance the picture of the still predominant image of male leadership – and also male entrepreneurship.

Ms. WIegand-Jackson and her company Utility Advantage were selected to be profiled in this publication which is a joint effort of GWNET and the German Federal Ministry for the Economic Affairs and Energy.  In her interview, Ms. Wiegand-Jackson stated that “The energy industry is a fantastic place to have a career. The opportunites are endless. You can really feel passionate about the value of what you are doing in terms of its impact on the environment. So you have a great career opportunity and can feel really great about what you do every single day.”
