Employees of Utility Advantage organized the Earth Day event which included presentations, surveys and action that our team can take to be more sustainable.
Andrea Snider gave a presentation covering Plastics in the Ocean and steps we can take to reduce our intake of plastics and to reduce plastics ending up in landfills and waterways. Deb Lenny led the team to complete a survey “What Renewable Energy Are You” which was a fun way to learn about our team members and to discuss various types of Renewable Energy.
We conducted a survey of our team and learned that most recycle between 75-90% of recyclables, half of the team planted a tree in the past year, and most acknowledged that their work contributes to improving the environment and addressing climate change. The team opted to receive At-home energy efficiency kits to celebrate Earth Day – the kits included a solar flashlight, LED lightbulbs, a low-flow faucet, a smart power chord, and more.
